I have run two separate projects on the estate.
The first was to design a stand-alone glass sculpture for the estate. In this project children from the estate came to my studio to design and make glass panels to go into a study wood frame.
The glass panels were sandwiched between two pieces of 10mm toughened glass for security and safety.
The second project was to try and get more people from the estate involved in improving the look of the estate.
To achieve this I borrowed a transit van and set up a mobile workshop on the estate. Through one day we got as many people as possible to create a glass tile with their name on it, using crushed glass frit and enamel paints.
These panels were then fired and displayed on brick walls in the estate.
