This project was to create a stained glass window for the school hall.
I ran a workshop with the two younger classes to create drawings based upon the theme of landscape and self portraits. These images were screen printed onto glass that is leaded into the windows.
I ran workshops with the two older classes to produce glass tiles, using powdered glass.
The leaves are glued onto a clear base glass, the powdered glass is sieved onto leaves collected from the school grounds and then removed leaving a silouette. The actual leaves are then placed underneath another piece of glass and fired leaving a glass imprint of the leaf. These were then leaded into a cross shape and the border of the panel.
The panel has a piece of toughened glass in front of it for safety and security.
