This new Stained glass window was commission by Tim Blewett the Warden of Launde Abbey.
It was designed as a gift to all the members of the staff to say thankyou for all their hard work thorough the extensive restoration of the abbey.
It is installed in the Emaeus chapel, a tiny brick outbuilding used as a chapel whilst the main chapel was being restored. It was so popular that it is still being used as a chapel today.
The design of the window is based upon the emaeus story, with Jesus and the disciples walking down the path to Launde Abbey. There is a painted image of each member of staff, with Tim Blewett welcoming everyone at the entrance to the Abbey.
The Launde Abbey prayer is also handpainted on the road to the Abbey.
