6. Oakroom – The general Hospital, Leicester

This commission is installed in the end of life care suite at the General Hospital.

This is a new suite designed to give the patient and family the best possible and most homely  setting for the end of someones life. A subject very close to my heart.

The sculpture, based upon the theme of water, is installed in the private garden accessed from the room by double opening doors.

The sculpture is a combination of fused glass and leadwork and is sandwiched between two pieces of 10mm toughened glass for security and hangs in a decorative wood frame.

The two windows are installed in the ensuite bathroom and are based upon the Oakroom logo (the name given to the suite). They are a combination of fused glass and leadwork and are triple glazed into units and installed in existing openings.
